JCSRS offers Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for every student in collaboration with parents and therapists. They have an enrollment of 70 students with an age range five to nineteen years. All students have additional learning needs. Many students have an Autism Spectrum diagnosis and some students have complex needs. JCSRS has developed its own curriculum framework, the Primary Learning Programme, through a thematic approach. There are three main themes throughout the year which each of the primary classes follow. The themes are subdivided into units of work for each class in addition to the core subjects of English and Mathematics. This enables all the students to study at an appropriately differentiated level. The themes are revisited every three years. This means that students encounter the themes from a new perspective, broadening and deepening their learning, as they progress through the classes and up along the curricular spiral. Our secondary year students follow the ASDAN Award Programme. The award programmes are activity based curriculum resources, which provide a real life context to promote the development of personal, social, independent, ICT and work related skills. Literacy and numeracy are also taught using the framework of the ASDAN Award Programmes.
