What is the minimum term for staying in a serviced apartment?
The majority of the serviced apartments require a minimum stay of 1 month due to license requirement. It becomes more flexible when extending the stay, which can be by day, by week or by month. However, some serviced apartments may have an extra charge for extension less than 1 month; hence it is important to check with the serviced apartment before confirming any extension.
In general, the rates include management fee, government rates, utility charge, local calls, internet service, and housekeeping and linen change service. However, some serviced apartments exclude electricity charge, internet service from the rates.
Not for short stay but some discount may be offered by the serviced apartment for a longer term.
Yes, guests have to pay a refundable deposit equivalent to 1-2 month’s rental depending on the length of stay. Some serviced apartments request for more deposit if it is a personal lease. The security deposit and advance rental payment are required to be settled before check in.
Cash (Hong Kong Dollars) check, credit card, bank transfer are mostly accepted by the Serviced apartments but it is advisable to check with the serviced apartment before making the booking. Surcharge may apply on credit card payment.
No early termination is accepted once the leasing agreement is signed. Prior arrangement should be made with the serviced apartment before confirming the booking if early termination option is required (usually for long stay).
The most common facilities provided by the serviced apartments are gym, reading room, business centre and self-service laundry facility. However, a lot of the serviced apartments in Hong Kong are single block building and there is no facility at all. Some serviced apartments may offer complimentary or discounted membership at a local gym for their guests.
There are only a few serviced apartments in Hong Kong which allow pets and there is an extra monthly charge for the pet.
